The Girls

Allie doesn't have very many girlfriends here in Saskatoon or in Minnesota because most of my friends had boys.  That is one of the many reasons we were so happy to meet Jodi and her girls this past spring.  Yesterday we watched Jodi's girls while Jodi went to a family funeral. The girls and I had a blast!

We were pretending Allie's old teether was a beautiful, beautiful princess crown.

I think they look like they could be sisters.

They wore each other out.

Hugs!

It was a fun afternoon for Allie with some of her only girlfriends!

Fall is in the Air

Today Allie and I met up with some friends to go through a corn maze.  Let me just say, I love fall. It is by far my favorite season. Something about the return to routine, the changing leaves, hot chocolate, pumpkins, the beginning of the holidays, and the list could go on and on.  Since the weather has been so nice recently, it has seemed more like summer than fall, so our trip today to the corn maze really got me in the mood for fall!

We started off with some group shots. They did not go well! I didn't notice at the time, but we segregated the kids, boys on the left, girls on the right.  I guess I didn't want Allie to get any boy germs! :)

This one is hysterical. Not a single child looking at any of their moms with the cameras!

Oh well. The group shots didn't go well, but Allie had a blast running through the maze.

Getting ready to go through.

Follow me mom!

Hi mommy!

RUNNING!

Allie and Iz went through the maze together and Allie was in heaven.  She loves Iz!

Getting in the mood for fall happened just in time since Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving.  We are hosting some friends this year for dinner, so it should be a lot of fun.  And then, Halloween will be just around the corner.  I have a little girl who has been practicing her puppy bark to go with her costume! :)  Happy fall everyone!

A Walk in the Park

Today Allie and I went for a walk  run in the park. Every afternoon we take Bella on a long walk and stop at the neighborhood park so Allie can play.   Today I decided to bring my camera and get a few pictures.

We have had a BEAUTIFUL fall. Today the high was almost 80 degrees!  I'm loving this fall so much more than last year, which was very cool and rainy. I am hoping this means the winter won't be quite so difficult for me! :)

I asked Allie to smile for the camera and this is what I got. Hmmm, not what I was thinking.

We always do the swings first.  The blue one first.

And then the black one. Allie is a creature of habit! She had a good time on the swings, even though she looks terrified in the picture below!

Then we played on the playground. I'm really going to miss this process when Allie will be big enough to just take a step up.

Love, love, love these thighs! :)

Almost there!

I did it mommy!

She cracks herself up. Literally!

Taking a break on the stairs.

She still gets a bit nervous to do the slide by herself. Every time she says, ready, set, go!  But she usually forgets to actually go and just keeps repeating ready, set, go. It is pretty cute!

I love these next shots because they really show Allie's personality. Please excuse her runny nose, it is cold season here in Saskatoon.

Running to explore her world!

Are you watching me mommy?

Having the time of her life!

Look mommy, a yellow bus!!!  She always wants to make sure that I see what she sees and that I get as excited as she does. It is so fun to experience the world through her eyes.

We finished up back at the slide to let her toy car have a turn.  She thought this game was really fun!

My baby girl looks like such a big girl!  Time is going by too quickly!

Bella really was there too and she smiled for the camera. Normally I don't tie her up, but I had to today since I was taking pictures. You can tell it was hot because her tongue is hanging out!

Hope you all are having a great week!

A Quick Trip

I just got back from a quick trip to Minnesota and Tulsa for a wedding of one of my best college friends.  Allie came with me to Minnesota so Nana and Bopa could watch her while I went to the wedding.   Allie also got to spend time with my parents, my grandma, Aunt Sue, and her cousins (on both sides).  It was a whirlwind trip, but such a blast!

My friend Deana got married in August in Columbus, but I need my friends to send me photos since I didn't take a single picture at either wedding. (Friends that are reading, please send me pictures, so I can blog about Deana's wedding too!).  I already got pictures from Katie and Sarah from Kat's wedding this past weekend, so I wanted to do a post. She was, of course, a stunning bride.  The rehearsal dinner and wedding fit her sense of style and personality to a T and it was fun to FINALLY visit Tulsa for the first time.  I loved it!

The beautiful bride.

The couple.

The reception was at a really funky garage that repairs vintage cars. It was the most unique reception I think I've ever been to and it was SO fun!

The DePauw guests.  All Theta's except the one guy who is married to a Theta.

Sarah, Katie and me at the reception.

It was a wonderful wedding and so much fun to get to see all my college friends at the reunion in June, Deana's wedding in August, and Kat's wedding in September.  It was sad to leave since I don't know when I'll see a lot of these ladies next, but I know that you can't keep us apart too long, so we'll be planning another fun trip within a few months!
